I am a fiber artist and printmaker who discovered a real love of the monoprint. Working quickly allows me to take chances and work in a stream-of-conscious manner. My gelatin prints have become works of art in their own right, but I also use them to work out colors and compositions for my fiber work. I use hand cut stencils, embroidery floss, sewing thread and premade letters to react to the political world, trying to make sense of what is going on. My work is an honest reaction to things I don't always understand, points of view I cannot fathom and conversations that leave me more wary than enlightened. I love to layer colors and textures as well as ideas and reactions. Currently I use gelatin plates and acrylic paint on paper, as well as dyed linen and cotton, but I maintain a love of the silkscreen image and the linocut. My love of color remains unchanged.
